About the Amphicar
The Amphicar was first introduced in the 1960s and was one of the first attempts at creating a mass-produced amphibious vehicle. While the Amphicar was not a commercial success, it remains an interesting and unique piece of history. The Amphicar is powered by two propellers that are located at the rear of the vehicle. When driving on land, the Amphicar is powered by its wheels. When entering the water, the wheels are retracted and the propellers are used to power the vehicle through the water.
Tickets
Tours run from 10 am to 10 pm as long as the weather permits. Guests can walk up and purchase their tickets at The Boathouse Boatique! While some attractions require you to purchase a ticket for each person, the Vintage Amphicar Tour only requires a flat $125 per car. Each car can hold up to four passengers along with the Capitan driving the car! Be sure to ask the ticket counter for any current discounts or rewards when booking your tour!
